The Poet's Communion

The Poet's Communion

Subconscious streams of inward truth,

mingle with the desire to censor - think before you tell.

Catching snippets of epiphanies and laying them down,

linking to the minds of others for a time.

To the rhythm of a failing heartbeat,

we intoxicate ourselves off of words,

aroused by syllables, rejuvenated by stories,

told like a memory that makes no sense.

A sound alternative to a life void of emotion.

We bleed out truth,

blood that crusts over and is forgotten,

only the Bleeders recognize the loss of vitality.
